What is the price range for a good gaming computer?

I’ve been interested in gaming for quite a while, and wanted to start playing games on Steam.
But, this computer I have now is creeping towards 9 years old, and is generally slow, and running out of hard drive space.
So, can anyone suggest any good computers, or the price range of such computers?

iBuyPower, Alienware are two good companies. Don’t get a laptop, that is a waste. Don’t get a mac, either, they aren’t good for gaming.
The price range is anywhere from 900-2,300 USD
