there are 2 processor companys you can choose from amd or intel. intel is faster by a few percent but can cost much more. amd is cheaper by a landslide and has more compatible motherboards(all the same socket). nvidia has the fastest graphics card but same thing with intel cost more for a few more frames per second and ati is cheaper and better in some cases(4770 x2). for the case never get a beige or a generic one, get a good airflow case so it doesnt get as hot(like the HAF 932). for future proofing i would get a amd phenom 955 or a intel core i7 2.66 ghz. if your overclocking get better cooling. next is the power supply get a 600watt one miniumum and for setups with 2+graphics cards need 750watt+ and make sure that the power supple has 2 or more 12v rails. for gaming today 4gb will be enough for many games to come. for the hard drive get a 300gig and a 7200rpm or higher but dont get a solid state disk because there still a little bit bugged. for the monitor make sure you video card has the connection needed for it. 1080p or hd is what you most monitors have today but they also have 1200p and 1600p for extreme resolutions. a good sized monito is 20+ inches with atleast 250CD which is brightness. for operating system get windows vista home atleast, basic is like windows xp with pretty colors and home is way better.
the site i reccomend is http://www.ibuypower.com
Well make sure it has a good graphics card.
I would suggest nvidia. I have a 8800 gts. It runs pretty well.
Also make sure to have a good processor.
I have an intel core 2 quad.
It runs very nice.
RAM is good to have also. Try to it least have 2 gigs of it.
I suggest to make your own computer if you know how too.
A home built computer is always better then a branded computer as long as you know how to make one.
the best computer for gaming i would suggest is:
…
any intel motherboard over G35 or G35 itself
nvidia geForce 9500gt 1gb agp with shader model 4
3-5 gb ram with quad core or higher like core i 7 (7-cores) with
3.5 or 4.2 ghz.
this is just the perfect system able to outmax the latst games.
hope i helped
the processor, the memory and the video card.
in gaming computers as of now dual core is good but if you want better then go for quad. and a nice video card like HIS HD 4850 512MB DDR3.
im not saying that this is the best, but or me it’s great!
here let me suggest something:
motherboard: MSI KA780G (this is hybrid crossfire ready)
processor: AMD PHENOM II X4 995 black edition
memory: 4 gig kingston pc800 (or even higher if you want to?)
power supply: ZUMAX 750 watts (good enough for overclocking)
HDD: 500 gig SV45 sata(its a server hard disk, so you can play 24 hours)
its a good computer! i’m telling you!
and try buyying on December coz it’s the end of the year, some parts usually on sale
Some real simple and easy things you should keep in mind :
(1) Make sure the graphic card is Nvidia Geforce. And its at least 512MB. You don’t have to care about MSI or XFX or whatever , they are just the graphic card’s manufacture.
(2) Make sure your RAM is at least 2GB. Brand? It doesn’t matter really. Just make sure that it fits onto your motherboard. If you are buying a computer set which fix up everything for you , you don’t have to worry about it.
(3) Processor wise , at least a 2.8 GHZ core 2 dual.
(4) Make sure your OS is Window Vista home edition , 32bit/64bit. I would recommend 64bit , but a 64 bit would require at least 3Gb of RAM. You will be fine with 32bit anyway. If you manage to get Windows 7 , by all means , get it. Don’t get Window XP , because it doesn;t support DirectX that is above 9.
(5) Not really important , but somehow important for the long run. Make sure your casing is ventilation friendly, and it can support more than 2 fans so that your gaming computer will not get overheat easily.
Thats pretty much all you have to know in buying a good gaming computer.Simple isn’t it?
the main components in a good DESKTOP gaming computer that will last about 2-3 years would be:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphics Card: GeForce 8800GTX
now if you want a super pricy extreme high-end $5000 computer, consider:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 3.2GHz
RAM: 4 or 6GB
Graphics Card: Geforce GTX295 3-Way SLI
I recommend the first one, it’ll run most games in 45FPS which is good, but if you are rich and willing to waste $5000 for a computer that’s gonna be $1000 next year but will run even Crysis* or GTA 4* in 70FPS be my guest.
Crysis=the most power hungry, hardware-challenging game to date (but awesome, really recommend it.)
GTA 4=The ultimate test for your computer
