This is my desk setup. Kind of messy as usual. I use the 2 monitors as I spend a lot of time in Excel, MS project and Flash. My distant view is of Mt. Tamalpais and the tippy tops of the Golden Gate Bridge. One thing I insist on is the wired mouse and keyboard. I hate wireless! I use old Communication Arts magazines to put the monitors up to the proper level. I also use a Mac laptop frequently on the desk. The desk is a Herman Miller. I bang my knees on it a lot though. We got them from a software company that was closing in 2002.
Our computers are all from Dell Outlet (refurbished). Mostly Dell Optiplex GX620s.

Three weeks ago, I had to replace the hard drive on my
SHITTY DELL LAPTOP,
after it had crashed twice, losing all my files.
(the loss of the files is something I can live with;
the stress of it happening over and over is not…)
Now, the "new" (read: refurbished) drive has failed,
goodbye pics and MP3s… for the third time.
So, we’ve sent my
SHITTY DELL LAPTOP
back to the depot, where it will undergo
extensive diagnostics
and likely have both the motherboard and harddrive replaced
(no doubt with refurbished parts,
even though the initial price charged was for a new machine)

So here we are, drinking too expensive coffee
paying for net time on a …
