I love to play hidden-object games. They are incredibly addicting. I especially love games that have a story that goes along with it.

on your lsp top there is a funktion key FN right of the CTRL key press it it should give you the option to use a different monitor also depending on what GPA your using you should be able to right click on an empty place on your desk top open up your graphic card control panel and turn on from there make sure the monitor is pluged in snd turned on

Question by 33Q: Is buying those pre-packaged computers on those shopping channels a good idea?
I am borrowing this laptop from my friend right now, and would like to get one of my own. considering buying from SHOPNBC, HOME SHOPPING NETWORK (HSN), QVC. They often have deals with the printer, the computer, software and accessories included. I know there are the best buy stores, the walmarts kmarts costco to buy from but don;t u have to buy the software separately and in the end if that was the place i were to buy them from?

I don’t really need much of software, yet i feel might as well get a good deal. suggestions and feedback on this.

also, this popped into my head, is getting the biggest screen (about a 17) laptop better in the long run, thinking of either a 15 or 17″…

I would at least buy them retail, in case I need to return something.

I also don’t like package deals in principle. I would sooner buy the devices I want, when I want and am able to afford them, rather than being forced to buy an included device I may not want, or may be the lower end device.

As for screen size, I’d get the smaller one to remain portable, but get a bigger LCD monitor to use it as a desktop system.

Design it to fit an 800×600 resolution screen. Higher resolutions should view it ok..

Question by Bookie: Laptop screen not turning on?
The laptop is 17″ and hp. All of the sudden the screen turned off, but the laptop is still running. I turned the computer off and turned it back on to find the same thing. However, after that I got the microsoft loading page with blue lines running across the screen but I couldnt’ get further than that. What has happened to the laptop? How can I fix it? Thank you soooo much! I appreciate any input!

UH OH, I just posted a question about my HP….It did the same thing. Even the blue lines….And unfortunately after the blue lines, the screen no longer turned on, I went to a computer repair company, and the lap top is as good as trash…The mother board crashed and the blue lines were a sign of the crashing. Basically I dont know what to do either, but they couldnt even get my pics or documents from it…
Good luck calling HP, if u are out of warranty they wont do anything for u..I tried…

Question by kwels: my dell studio 17 uses a wireless card that automatically finds wifi networks so i can use the internet..?
it’s a dell studio 17 laptop which i got near the beginning of this year, and i always used the built-in wireless wifi catcher to connect to a network and use the internet, but last night, it stopped working. I ran,” diagnose and repair” on the network symbol and it gave two options to do, to either reset the network adapter, or to get a new IP setting, i tried both but it said neither seemed to solve the problem. the computer also said, ” This computer has limited or no connectivity.” i don’t understand computers much, so i am not sure what to do. When i attempt to connect to a wireless or linksys network, it will connect, but it will not provide internet like it used to yesterday. What’s going on and what should i do?
i don’t have a router, my laptop came with a built-in wireless card that detects networks around the neighborhood to use

Try unplugging your router and modem and resting them if you have a wireless home network. Otherwise try a system restore. There might have been an IP conflict when u connected to another network causing your system to stay in an error state. you can also try windows update. That might update something necessary.

Question by tara.wtf_xd: What kind of laptop would you recommend?
I had a laptop, a HP, with a year warranty but it broke. And they told me I had 90-some days left on the warranty. But what is broke isn’t covered in the warranty, apparently. And it’s going to cost 421 dollars to fix. But I think I’d rather just buy a different one. So what would you recommend? Not an HP or an Apple computer please. And if you could specify what kind like Dell Inspiron 17 or something.

Well, i’m sorry to answer with out answering but we need to know, What you want to use it for and how much you are willing to spend on it?

One thing you could do is go to Newegg.com and use the powersearch function they have to look for your laptop but i’ll do that also and show you the best one i found

Question by Factor Remix: External Laptop Fan for Gaming?
So, I really need a laptop fan. Some days ago, my computer reached 85 C°, and it shutdown. I use my laptop mainly for gaming, so a big fan pad wouldn’t be a problem. My computer is over-clocked, so you can expect serious over-heating.

My price range of the fan is up to , and I need it for a 17″ laptop. If you know any durable and good fan pad, please answer.

On a bright, sunny Wednesday afternoon, I ventured down to 23rd Street and 6th Avenue to drop off my laptop computer for a repair job. Afterwards, I thought I would walk over to Broadway and stroll up the street to see if I could find some interesting pictures; and then I got the crazy idea to take a cab down to the very end of Broadway — near the Staten Island Ferry — and walk all the way up Broadway to my neighborhood on 96th Street.

But then I decided that Broadway probably wouldn’t be very interesting until I reached Canal Street … so I had the cab-driver drop me off there, and began my walk northward. Who knows how far I would have gotten if I hadn’t been distracted by a lively farmer’s market in Union Square — on 14th Street? Anyway, there’s much more of Broadway to cover, and if I have the time and energy over the next few months, perhaps I will cover the entire length of this longest street in New York City, which extends all the way through Manhattan, Bronx, and into Yonkers…

Question by Jordan: What would happen If i was on an airplane and I didn’t shutdown my laptop when i was told?
I don’t like being bossed around and I hate being bossed around. I’m a computer geek and I am 17 years old and I am always on the computer. If i was on an airplane and I had a laptop on and i didn’t shut off when they told me to because of new air travel restrictions, what would happen ??? What would happen if i didn’t shut off my laptop and threw a fit ??

Question by Eli: Computer Laptop gets hot and turns off after having a 512MB RAM upgrade?
This is my first question on Yahoo! Answers.

“I have a one year old Toshiba Satellite P30 17″ Laptop, that for all intensive purposes works great. About a month ago, I took it back to Futureshop/Best Buy where I bought it to add a 512mb stick of RAM, to total 1GB.

That took only a few minutes and was relatively painless – but about a week later I noticed when playing a game full-screen (obviously processor and resource-intensive) the computer all of a sudden turned off.

A few qualification points:

I’m running SpeedFan 4.2 and have average startup temperatures of 80-85F, but within minutes I’m at between 90-100F, sometimes as high as 105F.

Obviously I keep the unit in a relatively cool space, no heat sources nearby, with all ventilation unobstructed.

Sidenote: I’ve put the laptop out the window (safely) and watched the temperature drop to high 70’sF and still shuts off.

Is this a virus? Hardware failure? Has anyone ever had this happen from a RAM swap/add?

Any help is great!

The problem you describe is almost certainly caused by the new RAM. I would double-check your specs to make sure your motherboard is rated to accept 1GB RAM. Some mobos will not accept that much RAM.

If your Toshiba is only a year old, that probably isn’t it though. I am geussing the RAM stick is defective or cheap. I would take out the stick and run the same applications for about a week. If the same thing doesn’t happen, you can go to Best Buy and ask for a replacement.
