I wanted to get the Gateway – All-In-One Computer / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 21.5" Display / 4GB Memory / 1TB Hard Drive, touch screen all-in-one computer but was not sure if it was good for gaming. I know i probaly cant do it with my hands but can i use a mouse and keyboard???

since you can now run windows 7 ultimate on the mac pro, it can also play any games that are for windows. Since the Mac pro can have up to 64GB of RAM, what many consider the best gaming graphics card (HD radeon 5870 1GB), and the best processor you will find for a home computer (Two 2.93GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, making it 12 cores), and up to 2TB of 15000rpm hard drive space (solid state) Wouldnt the mac pro be one of the best gaming computers once you installed windows 7?

I spilled soda on my Compaq Presario C502 and it might be more expensive to fix. The motherboard got damaged pretty bad. The repair guy showed me some refurbished laptops. One was a HP from 2010 and another one was a Compaq Presario V Series, from 2006 or 2007. The hard drive from my C502 could be transfered to the V series laptop.

I want to buy a second laptop for as cheap as possible.

The one I have now would be for pleasure (gaming and such) while the new one (and cheap one) will be solely for college and any research that might come with it.

Because my price range is limited and my requirements are something above 80GB hard drive and windows XP, I’m not looking at anything cheap (200-600 USD).

I bought a Dell – Inspiron E1505 back in July, 2006. A little over three months later, out of nowhere, it wouldn’t power up. A technician came out to my house and couldn’t fix the problem. It was recommended we send it in to the repair depot so tests could be run to diagnose the problem. I was told I would get it back in about a week, but didn’t. Three weeks went by with no word from the depot on when they would get to it, so Dell agreed to send me a refurbished one.

I received the refurbished one, popped in my original hard drive, and all is well. Today we received the original one (repaired) back from the depot. Dell says it is up to me to decide which one I keep. So do I keep the refurbished one, or the original one that’s under 4 months old?

My wife read an article about refurbished camcorders that said refurbished camcorders were often better because of strict inspection guidelines. Would this hold true for computers as well?

Which one should I send back ??
I guess I should add that the "corrective repair action" form from the repair center had "video card" and "keyboard" checked off as (I assume) what was replaced or fixed.

Preferences would include:
1. Nice speed 1.4 GHz and above
2. Hard drive 40 GB or above

Is it possible to get something like this for say less than 0?

I bought a refurbished laptop but it needs a bigger hard drive. How easy is it to replace the hard drive in a laptop? Is it as easy as changing a battery?

am new to pc gaming, but i want to get into it. i dont want to spend that much. i want to play halo 2 vista, gears of war, and maybe crysis if these computers can do that.

We have an hp laptop that we purchased refurbished, and it has always been giving us problems. Recently the computer keeps giving a BSOD (blue screen of death) and we have tried everything, we have even tried formating the hard drive and installing windows 7 on it ( previously had windows vista) and early on in the installation it gives a BSOD), we have tried every mode there is and we have tried F11 (system recovery from a partition) but that dreaded BSOD keeps appearing!

Does this mean that this is a hardware problem????

I have just preformed a memory test and it has passed (I pressed F2 and preformed one….)

I am about to preform a hard drive test

I thought that windows 7 had less hardware requirements and could run on a pentium 4 processor ( i thought it used less resources to operate)

The BSOD error varies, here is the latest one

I found a great deal on a laptop. Toshiba with a 4GB memory and 320GB hard drive for 9. It’s from a reputable store (Frys Electronics), but I’ve never bought a refurbished laptop before. When I think ‘refurb’ I think there was something wrong with it and it still is which is why it’s cheaper.

I am on a budget, so I’m thinking I can’t ask for more since my money is tight.
What do you think?

There may be an option to buy an extended warranty, but if not, the standard warranty is 90 days.

I just purchased a refurbished Compaq Laptop for a very good price from tiger direct. Not my first choice for brand but it has better specs than I would have hoped to find for that price. I really need the power for school I’m an animator, I work with Autodesk Maya and Adobe After Effects.

My questions are :
1. When I get the machine, should i first format the hard drive?

2. I would like to update the OS from Vista to Windows 7, what problems with drivers and stuff might I encounter?

Any advice would greatly appreciated.

for just gaming, which of these will perform the best?

I like to play the computer game The Sims 2 (eventually would like to get The SIms 3) and I need a recommendation on a computer that will run it good.

I don’t know much about computers as far as hard drive and such, so I need to know what a good computer, RAM, hard drive and such would work good to run The Sims 2.
