no just buy a router and plug that into your current modem. if the PCs are close together you can use ethernet from the router to both PCs.

if they are in separete rooms get a wireless router / access point. use ethernet on the closest to the cable modem and a wireless USB adapter for the other PC and connect it wirelesssly

On my work experience i was working with a computer repair company. They had many computers but only one screen and all they had to do was like press a switch and you would see the other computers desktop etc etc , like they connected them all up to this strange box thingy

As long as the connections/power are there, there’s no reason why you can’t. Cameras which use USB for connection and power should be able to be used on any computer with a USB connection. Really, the only difference is portability.
