I’ve been having a lot of problems with my computer lately (I’m running a Dell Optiplex 755 with Windows XP) because it’s not allowing me to run my Sims 2 or 3 games. When I contacted customer support, they told me it was because my graphics card was so basic that it was having trouble running the graphics of these games.
I could just go out and buy a new graphics card, but the problem is that my computer is half the size of a normal tower, so a new graphics card most probably wouldn’t fit inside my computer.
I’ve been looking to get a new computer anyway, so I suppose my options go to Gaming Computers.
I don’t need anything too fancy (nothing like Alienware which will end up having software that I’ll never use) just something that has a good enough graphics card to run my Sims 2 and 3 games.
Additionally, if any of you have any information on a Graphics Card that would fit in my Optiplex 755 that would be immensely appreciated as well.
My price range is hopefully under 00 (like I said, I’m not looking for anything fancy).

I’m a Artist and I’m looking to buy a new computer most of my work is done digitally, the programs that I use always take up large amount of memory( Adobe, Open Canvas, etc.) and thus a lot of lagging or my computer freezes and hours of work is lost.

A couple of my friends who are also artist have computer desktops called Alienware which are gaming computers. Are gaming computer best me what I’m into, what else is out there besides AW what would you suggest?

I don’t have the money for alienware or apple computers, so could anyone please tell me good computers for gaming that are preferably under 0?

So PS3 costs around 0 and I believe xbox 360 is almost similar price. However gaming computers cost about 00-1200 but they can cost even 00 and I even saw Dell’s Alienware cost over 00

Does that mean that gaming computers are better than PS3/xbox360 and are better at playing games?

If I spec out a Dell XPS system with a high end graphics card and enough RAM, is it equivalent to an Alienware gaming computer? What’s the difference? Alienware seems to cost twice as much yet offer the same hardware specs. What am I missing?

I was wondering what the best gaming computer in the world. Would it be a custom made pc or one bought rom alienware or sometthing. IT CAN BE ANY PRICE WITHIN REASON! like 50,000 is the highest so dont go naming super-computer at nasa or something.

I am currently looking at desktops from alienware, dell, and gateway, but after doing some more research I realized that there are too many gaming computer companies to sift through and with your help I could narrow my search a bit.

I love computer gaming, and currently I have a pretty old HP that can barley run a few video games. If I knew how I would just build myself a gaming computer, but I don’t know how to. I can’t seem to even find any company’s that make gaming computers anymore. I looked on Alienware but they don’t have much of a selection ever sense windows 7 came out. I just wanted to know if anyone could link me sites that sell gaming computers for a reasonable price. Thank’s!
P.S. I just want links to companys that sell gaming computers, I know windows 7 practicaly killed all the good vista and xp gaming computers, but still.
And I also cant make a computer. I don’t have the knowledge

I am doing my senior thesis on the performance of hand-built home-built gaming computers and relative price compared to the performance and price of the gaming computers that major sponsers sell. How is is possible for me to get sponsership from gaming companies like velocity, alienware, and nvidia, and will I be able to get free gear like computer part and computers?

I have been searching for sometime now for the best gaming computer on the market. I have looked at Compaq, HP, Gateway, Dell, and Alienware. I felt Alienware was probably the most expenisve, and Gateway had the best deal, but i’m not sure which one would be a better gaming computer. Anybody have any idea with these companies or can suggest the best place to get this style computer. Or is there anywhere else there are good, strong gaming computers? I want the best graphics and most memory, plus best processor. Also if you could tell me what the current best processors and video cards on the market are now I would be grateful. It’s been ages sinced I computer shopped and i’m way out of the loop now (you know how fast the business changes). Thanks for all the help for anyone who answers!! One final note, I want a desktop, not a notebook computer.

I still have not found the answer I am looking form. I want a some-what cheap gaming desktop around the 0 range. I will be playing games like WoW and Crysis. I don’t know anything about computers, so building one is out of the question. I just need someone to suggest a computer that can run the games I like on high detail settings, and run smoothly with no lag.

I found a computer for 0, and the guy says it runs Crysis at the highest settings. Here’s the specs can someone tell me if it’s a good deal?

I have no idea what any of that means. But anyways, if that’s not a good computer or deal, can someone suggest a pre-assembled computer. I was also looking at the Alienware Aurora, but idk if that’s a good computer either.

I really need/want a new gaming computer, and Alienware seems really nice, plus my friend has one and it works nicely. I need a good gaming pc, but I’m not sure which alienware will be the best for what I will use it for.

The biggest game I’ll play on it will be the Sims 3, but I make CC (custom content) which takes up more space then usual. I also download huge amounts of CC. If you look in my downloads folder, you’d see more then 300 CC items/clothes.

I want to be able to play my game settings on High with very little, to no lag at all. However, I am not computer smart at all, so I have no idea what to look for.

So I used to be on top of all the gaming news in the world but I kinda quite with computer games and went to consol games. Recently i have been missing the computer games and all I have to play is a 6 year old computer.
I have a mac but that can run games anywhere near as good as I would like it to.
I kno of a lot of companies that make amazing gaming computers. Like alienware but I was just going to ask are there any good gaming computers out there for a relatively low price??? Thanks for any answers!

Question by Josh: DVD upconvert in a laptop Blu-ray drive?
I have just ordered a Dell Studio 17 laptop with a Blu-ray disc drive and an HD screen. I was just wondering if I played a regular DVD, the picture will be upconverted to 1080p. I know that the Sony Blu-ray player hooked up to my TV upconverts, but does the Blu-ray player in a computer do it too?

Im looking to order a nice gaming computer from online, and i was wondering whats the best website to do so? My budgets around 900-950, i was planning ordering an alienware, but then i heard that not only are they really expensive, but they have alot of problems, and then i was going to order from cyberpowerpc.com, but then i heard that those computers have alot of trouble, ( cables broken on arrival, cd/dvd drives crooked, etc.) so whats the best website?
