The Portability of Laptop computers usually is the first advantage when versing desktop computers and PCs. this means that laptops can be used outside the office or home premises, commuting or on airplanes. Most commonly is the use of laptops in coffee shops and campuses even during a lecture and in the library. Laptops often works quieter than most desktops and are producing less noise pollution due to both  using a quieter and slower HD & since there is a much lesser heat producing problem due to the use of a fewer & slower cooling fans.

The battery in Laptops when charged, is capable of running several hours in case of power outage. Laptops are not affected by ac short power cuts and interruptions. But desktops needs a UPS extra to handle these short interruptions as mentioned. In order to work on battery more then  30 minuets will require a large and expensive UPS device.

In conclusion, a laptop has everything integrated in to it’s chassis. This includes a DVD R/W , keyboard and mouse, the screen display & speakers, a microphone & web cam, an integrated Wi-Fi, Express Card slot & a memory card reader are all usually integrated inside.
